The cover is black lokta paper — handmade from the bark of the Nepali lokta shrub, textured and alive in the way only handmade paper can be. Across its surface, gold botanical linework has been screenprinted edge to edge: great blooming flowers with layered, concentric petals, curling leaves, delicate stems, and tiny scattered hearts. The gold glows against the black. In certain light it nearly disappears. In others, it stops you.

Inside, 60 pages of lined black archival paper wait quietly. A single signature, sewn through the fold with metallic gold thread — a binding as intentional as everything else about this book.

This is a notebook that means something before you've written a single word in it.
