Gold & Cream Botanical - Imperfect
This journal is cream — a kind of warm, quiet cream — printed with intricate gold botanical linework that covers the entire surface. Flowers with layered petals, trailing stems, leaves overlapping leaves, tiny scattered details that reveal themselves slowly the longer you look. It is dense without being heavy. Ornate without being loud.
The binding is Coptic stitch in white thread, sewn through five signatures of eight sheets each — 160 pages of black archival paper that welcome white ink, metallic gel pens, gouache, and fine liners with equal grace. The exposed spine is structural, the mark of a book made to last and to open completely flat without resistance.
This particular journal is offered as a seconds piece. During production, a cover defect required trimming closer to the page lines than intended. The journal is fully functional and structurally sound — the imperfection is cosmetic and minor, but it is there, and you should know.
Beautiful things don't always come out perfect. Sometimes they come out honest instead.
